Starting with this year second day competition had been expanded from 6 teams to 10 teams. This was done to get more participation on the second day. They now run heats paired as follows: 1-6, 2-7, 3-8, 4-9, and 5-10. This spacing is to theoretically get less head-to-head competition in the final heats for improved safety.
