Beta Sigma Corporation

In the Fall of 1990 spearheaded by Mace Maxwell the concept of our own chapter corporation was born and on April 15th, 1991 the Beta Sigma Corporation formally incorporated in the state of Pennsylvania. The stated purpose for this corporation read as follows:

"THE PURPOSE OF THE Corporation shall be the advancement of the educational and literary interests of its members, the promotion of social virtues among them and the creation and maintenance of a high standard of life and happiness for its members by uniting them in closer bonds of friendship and brotherly union, and the perpetuation of itself as a fraternal organization. To buy, sell, receive, exchange, lease, rent, grant, improve, develop, repair, manage, maintain, mortgage and otherwise dispose of and deal with real and personal property of every kind and character and to hold same and apply proceeds from same towards such objects; and to do any and all things contemplated by an organization exempt under Section 501(c)(7) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 as in effect or hereinafter amended including all pertinent Regulations, Revenue Rulings, and Revenue Procedures called for."

Membership in the organization automatically includes all active brothers and alumni from our chapter who are in good standing with Pi Kappa Alpha. A Board of Directors was quickly established and structured to include both active brothers and alumni. The Board includes the current chapter SMC, Houseman, and Alumni Representative for the active brotherhood. The balance of the seats are filled by alumni.

The very first Beta Sigma Corporation (BSC) elected Board of Directors consisted of Mace Maxwell, President; Bob Marcoux, Vice President; David Landay, Secretary; Ed Sullivan, Jr., Treasurer; Ron Gabriel, Chapter SMC; Brent Jones, Chapter Houseman; Fred Zaitz, Chapter Alumni Representative; and Mike Ross.
